40. Air pollution
Colombia is going through a time of great pollution in the air. Bogota is among the most polluted cities and this affects us as a company. It is because contaminated air damages crop where fruit pulp and extract the product quality decreases.
In Colombia it is implementing a system for monitoring air quality as shown in the following chart:
Dark green regions are those with the highest number of monitoring stations.
‘’As part of this project, KOICA has made knowledge exchange with officials Colombian Government and in the year 2016 will donate 9 stations monitoring air quality tech automatic three regions Prioritized that correspond to jurisdictions Regional Autonomous Corporation of Magdalena - CORPAMAG, the Regional Autonomous Corporation Boyacá - Corpoboyacá and Technical Department Administrative Environmental Barranquilla - Damab. The IDEAM will receive a computer center that will connected to these stations to receive their data real-time and detailed analyzes of them.’’ (Anon, 2016)
